The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has described the newly constituted management board of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) as a formidable team that deserves his royal support to enable its members succeed in their assignment. To Alhaji Gambari, the 14-member board parades individuals he said had made their mark in the public and private sectors. The Emir heaped praises on the board members, led by Olorogun O'tega Emerhor, while receiving them at his palace in Ilorin. "We expect good performance from a good team composed of tested professionals. We are happy that our own son, Prof Mikhail Buhari is the hospital's acting Chief Medical Director. We assure you of our support," the royal father said. The board's Chairman, Olorogun Emerhor, said members were at the palace to pay homage on the Emir and solicit his royal blessings for their tenure. He expressed the new board’s determination to position the teaching hospital as one of the best in the country, and to diligently discharge its mandate on research, teaching and healing the sick.
